About Us
About COC Living
For 60 years, we’ve helped people with developmental disabilities live fuller, more independent lives through quality housing and compassionate support. What started as a parent-led initiative in 1965 has grown into a trusted community partner serving 80 individuals across 19 homes in Plymouth, Livonia, Redford, and Garden City.
What Sets Us Apart
Choice Matters
We believe everyone deserves to choose where they live, with whom and how they spend their time.
Quality First
Person centered care is at the core of our mission. Our team strives to help each individual pursue their talents and interests to help them build meaningful and productive lifestyles.
We focus on what truly matters – creating safe, welcoming homes with dedicated staff.
Community Integration
From employment to volunteering to social activities, we help residents fully participate in community life. Our residents work at local businesses, volunteer at organizations they care about, and build lasting friendships.

Leadership Team

Holly Heath
Executive Director
Bios
Holly holds a bachelor’s degree in special education from Western Michigan University, a master’s degree in learning disabilities from Eastern Michigan University and a doctorate in educational leadership from Wayne State. During her time at Wayne State, she completed her dissertation on the topic of transition planning for youth with disabilities. She has over 30 years’ experience working with individuals with developmental and learning disabilities. She began her career in 1993 as an employee of Livonia Public Schools, working at the Western Wayne Skill Center, and Franklin High School. In 2001 she moved to Northville Public Schools as the Transition Coordinator for Cooke School until she retired from teaching in 2018. In 2019 Holly assumed her current role of Executive Director for Community Opportunity Center in Livonia, a nonprofit organization providing long term housing, community living support staffing and transportation services to adults with developmental disabilities.
In her previous position as Transition Coordinator for Northville Public Schools, Holly worked with students and their families to access post school services needed to move successfully from school to post school life. This position required a great deal of collaboration with the mental health system in Wayne County, through which Holly acquired detailed knowledge pertaining to how to navigate the mental health system and its provider network. In this role Holly assisted students with accessing vocational, housing and transportation services to ensure that their post school lives were meaningful and designed around their goals, preferences and interests.
Holly has seen first-hand the difficulties youth with disabilities and their families face as they transition out of school into adulthood. For this reason, her current role as Executive Director for Community Opportunity Center is a natural extension of her doctoral work and personal passion aimed at improving the transition experience and outcome for youth and adults with disabilities.
